(NEXSTAR) - With just 100 days remaining until the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, three sisters from the U.S. Ski Team are training intensely to make their Olympic dreams a reality. Alli, Lauren, and Sam Macuga, who have been training together their entire lives, are each competing in different disciplines: moguls, alpine skiing, and ski jumping, respectively. As the countdown to the Games continues, these sisters are focused on fine-tuning their skills and maintaining their health. "I can't even imagine doing it without them," said Sam Macuga, referring to her sisters. "It's just me and I don't know. It's I think it's actually helped me stay in it as long." "Like it really set in I think like middle of last year, we were like Gosh, like, like, this is so cool. Like, how is that even a possibility?" said Lauren Macuga. "We talked about the Olympics when we were younger as like, I don't know. We just watching. We thought it was cool. Never like, oh, we'll go like maybe joke about it. Like, haha, funny. And now, it's like, oh, wait, like that could happen," said Alli Macuga. The Macuga sisters have been a part of the U.S. Ski Team, each excelling in their respective disciplines. Their journey to the Olympics has been a family affair. Their parents face a unique challenge as the sisters could potentially compete in different cities during the Olympics, leading to a difficult decision on where to be present. "We told them, if all three of them make it it's like okay literally we're going to have to draw straws," their parents mentioned. But the challenge could get even more complicated. Their brother also participates in alpine skiing. All facts in this report were gathered by journalists employed by Nexstar.
