(NEXSTAR) -- Spike Lee, David Alan Grier, Ryan Coogler and the cast of "One Battle After Another" were among the celebrities honored at the 8th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television. Presented by the Critics’ Choice Association, the event was held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles and hosted by actor and comedian Jay Pharoah in a repeat appearance. According to the CCA, the event "honors standout work both onscreen and offscreen from the Black entertainment community." Lee, an Academy Award-winning writer-director, took home the Career Achievement Award "in recognition of his extraordinary body of work that has made an indelible mark on popular culture over the last four decades," including most recently for the film "Highest 2 Lowest," the CCA said in a statement. Grier, whose acting career spans stage, screen and television, received the Vanguard Award for his work, including his most recent role on NBC's "St. Denis Medical." Ryan Coogler, an Academy Award nominee, received the Director Award, while Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti received the Ensemble Award for the film "One Battle After Another."
